12/7/2023 0 Comments Tfatws new captain america actor![]() All that action-packed bits and running around in costumes are alright. This is why Marvel hires brilliant actors like Sebastian Stan. The opening with Bucky finally being free of his past was excellent. As for the CGI, those face replacements and the shot of Bucky jumping onto the street and then running was hilariously awful.Īlright, breathe! We are done with the bad stuff. I tend to overlook them because it’s difficult to hide them and you can do only so many takes. And what was up with the wirework and the CGI? The wires were way too apparent this time. Here, that’s not the case and the fast nature of the editing ends up being a tad bit discombobulating. ![]() Therefore, even if it’s a little over-edited, there’s a flow. I think the difference between the Russos and this is that the Russos have a lot of insert shots and coverage. I don’t know if the showrunners were trying a little too hard to emulate the Russos but it clearly didn’t work. Talking about the editing, this episode really f*cked up the action scenes. The editing around the dialogue scenes was also a little off, thereby making every conversational scene seem pretty bland in comparison to its predecessors. It was clearly for the audience because someone planning to build a new future doesn’t live so much in the past. What’s wrong with that? A few minutes ago she had a similar conversation with the same guy. She reminisces about why they began the whole movement and whatnot. For example, there’s a scene where things go sideways for Karli and she regroups with the rest of the Flag Smashers to talk about their way forward. It seemed way too plain, surface-level, and although I don’t like to use that word a lot I’ll have to say that it’s expository. If you’re up for something more nuanced, keep reading. ![]() If that’s what you’re here to hear, then there you go. Overall though, this might be the show’s weakest point. ![]() It probably raised my expectations by quite a few notches due to which Episode 4 ended up feeling quite underwhelming from a few points of view and also pretty good if you keep your focus limited to Wyatt Russell’s John Walker/Captain America. I absolutely loved the third episode due to James Bond and John Wick vibe that was only accentuated by the sweet, sweet fight choreography and the goosebumps-inducing tease straight from Wakanda. It’s so good that it made me go and re-watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been very consistent in terms of tone and quality. And if you aren’t very strict about spoilers, read on. So, please read it after watching the show. The usual The Falcon and the Winter Soldier title treatment changes, revealing the show’s true name:Īwesome.Disclaimer: This article on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 4 contains major spoilers. It’s a happy ending - made all the happier by the final image we see before the credits. In the aftermath of the battle-heavy finale, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes enjoy a cook-out with family and friends in Louisiana. We later learn that his words inspire them to have a change of heart. With Karli Morgenthau and the Flag-Smashers defeated, Sam reveals himself as Captain America to the world, broadcasting his appeal to the GRC members to reconsider their approach. He’s assisted along the way by Bucky, Sharon Carter (though she’s eventually revealed as the mysterious Power Broker more on that shortly), and even John Walker, who comes around to his senses and helps fight the good fight. Sam doesn’t beat the Flag-Smashers alone. Their efforts are swiftly thwarted with the arrival of Sam Wilson as Captain America, wearing the stars and stripes in a brand new costume - wings, shield, and all. It begins where Episode 5 left off, with the Flag-Smashers attacking the GRC summit in their quest to smash all borders. Marvel StudiosĮpisode 6 is almost all-action, all the time. Sam and Bucky enjoy a well-earned happy ending.
